Signs of our times Mk 2 -2 Sept 14: Digby

My 16 yo grandson paying close attention to his earphone/s and laptop screen. I'm not very proud of him - much!!!
Proud as punch and well deserved.

Wonderful way to be able to show how musicians have to 'deal' today. And what fun to be able to hear him play.

@ethelperry Thank you Ethel, he's in Yr 11 and had a very broken year, of course. I was rapt to see him performing like that in a team effort.

@taffy Sure was Taffy, he's in the second-last year of secondary school and had a very broken year due to the covid stuff. I was very happy to see how well he'd knuckled down to this performance under such difficult circumstances. He lives 450 Km from the school, hence the boarding.

Yeah right.. looks like he has a talent.. and looks very smart..
September 14th, 2020
No wonder you are proud of him.
September 14th, 2020
Well, gee. What's there to be proud of after all? ;-D

I had a son aged about the same who really wanted to play the sax. He lasted for 2 years which was the minimum we had agreed on. Keep on, keep on!

Keep up the good work :)

Well done. Our 13 year old granddaughter has been learning trumpet for a couple of years. I hope that she'll stick with it.

Amazing! how proud you must be
September 14th, 2020

@julzmaioro Thanks Julz, you're very kind. As for his dress, some variant of school uniform was obligatory.

@onewing @aikiuser @samae @jgpittenger Nothing like a proud grandmother!! Thanks to each and all of you lovely people.
September 20th, 2020
@maggiemae He's not been one for sticking to things very well so I was amazed to see how well he'd stuck to his trumpet playing and all that entails.
September 20th, 2020
@gilbertwood Absolutely!!
September 20th, 2020
@gilbertwood Unless something goes badly wrong we should be able to have our long delayed lunch sometime soon.
September 20th, 2020
@merrelyn Oh yes, I doubted Digs would knuckle down and stick with it long enough to get through that tough first year or two. So happy to be proved wrong!

@jgpittenger Thank you so much Jane, very kind of you. He is standing in his bedroom, over 400Km away from where he goes to school. Technology can be such a positive force when used for a good purpose.
