A well-beaten path

I'm pleased to say Les is now home again so, with luck, I shan't be seeing this sight for a good while.
Oh dear...am clearly behind. Hoping all is well. And despite the reason for having this scene, it's quite a lovely composition and well titled.

@taffy Short version: Les caught a chest bug on the trip, she has a weak chest --> very sick, kept under control with her specialist-prescribed meds. Got home still very sick, got worse, Australia just about closes down over Christmas/early January, very hard to get much medical attention short of A&E. Finally got her to a GP, specialists all on holidays, sick as the proverbial dog, finally saw a specialist last Thursday who immediately put her into this hospital where she spent 5 days being properly diagnosed and treated. She has been sick for a month now. I need a holiday.

Good to hear Les is on the mend. If you need another holiday can you make it local

Here's hoping she's finally on the road to a complete recovery!

This image is quite striking, even without your personal story. So much story potential!

@onewing Definitely!!! And not right on the Silly Season!!!

@jyokota I'd like to think so Junko, but she has a very poor chest at the best of times thanks to many years of smoking. She now seems to have developed asthma on top of all the rest of it. Just as well my lungs are OK.

@jyokota I was lucky, taking a shot of the various lines and then in walked that woman and what was I to do except take the shot?

Hope you do get a rest from the place! Essential places at times but good to not need them.

A great image which tells a story. So pleased Les is at home again although I expect you will still have to do a bit of nursing/caring. Not easy when someone had underlying chest problems. Both my dad and brother suffered from the same and I know how hard it can be with o going care. Try to take it easy Marnie and remember to look after yourself too! Big hugs to you both!

Such a great image and a bonus having someone walk through the scene for you. Good news regarding Les being home - at least you're not having to rush off to the hospital for visiting.
January 14th, 2019
Great news for Les - and of course you too :) Hope her treatment really works well Now what are you doing on Saturday???
January 14th, 2019
Wonderful news! Happy homecoming!

Neat story capture. You absolutely had to take the shot as she walked into it.The silly season is definitely not a good time to be sick, glad that Les is finally on the mend.

Great time for a welcoming visit.
January 14th, 2019
It certainly is a good feeling to be done with that! I hope she continues to improve. Sometimes being home is the best for that. Good shot!

So glad to hear

@newbank Thanks Ruth, good to have her home, but she's still very wheezy and needs lots of attention. Keeping me out of mischief.
January 15th, 2019
@pamknowler @dide To be honest, I'm now busier than the proverbial lint-picker at a blue-suit convention. Les is still very wheezy and can't really do anything more than loo and shower and even then wheezes like mad. I'm none too sure she should be home, it all worries me a great deal.
January 15th, 2019
@gilbertwood She's home, but still crook as a chook. The slightest exertion brings on alarming wheezing which worries me a great deal. I'm none too sure she's improved much, though probably now stabilised. Watch this space. Saturday? I don't know, playing golf I hope. But I've just cancelled tomorrow's game because I don't think she should be left that long on her own. Day-by-day proposition.
January 15th, 2019
@merrelyn Thanks Merrelyn, none too sure she's on the mend though definitely stabilised now. Sees the GP again on Friday.
January 15th, 2019
@olivetreeann As you'll see from the thread Ann, I'm none too sure just how much real improvement has taken place. I'm extremely worried as well as very busy.
January 15th, 2019
@jgpittenger Thanks Jane, unfortunately she's still far too wheezy to do anything at all bar the essentials.
January 15th, 2019
Oh no - wish I lived closer so I could do a few meals for you. Xx
January 15th, 2019
@dide You're a kind soul Dianne, but I don't think they'd survive the rigours of the postal system. Virtual will suffice, thank you.

Beautiful picture, tells a story. And you too tell a story which is not as good as we would like to hear. I guess you need patience and medicine. All my best. Fav for the photo

I'm so sorry to hear that your trip resulted in this ongoing ill health for Les. I hope she continues to improve and you and she can get back to your normal lifestyle. :)
January 15th, 2019
@caterina My sincere thanks Caterina, I appreciate your concern. Les says she feels a bit better today but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
January 15th, 2019
@robz Thanks Rob, I appreciate that. I can only second the motion. I'm well over all this too.
January 15th, 2019
I'm so happy that Les is better. This is a very difficult time for you. I wish you health!
