Swan Hill bridge plaque

I find it interesting both to read this kind of information, and to note the increasing number of these plaques near old and interesting sites.
There is always so much interesting info to be found. That is a pretty old bridge!

It's great that the council's are acknowledging the past history :)

@ludwigsdiana @gilbertwood Thanks folks, I quite agree.

We have plaques like this all over our area marking interesting sites such as the uncovering of a mastadon skeleton when they dug the foundation for a fast food place and several important sites related to the Revolutionary War. Interesting read!

@olivetreeann I think these kinds of informative things are very good, and certainly add to the experience and knowledge of visitors to the area.

@golftragic They are a great way to keep history alive.

@olivetreeann Very much so, there was nothing like these plaques (there's more than one along there) even just a few years ago. I think they're great. You go away feeling like you learned something - and I lived in that area for nearly 20 years and travelled across that bridge more times than you (or I) have had a hot dinner.

My Mother made sure we stopped at historical markers when we traveled - which was often since my father was in the Army. I stop at them too.
