Storm coming by golftragic

Storm coming

I wanted to post this shot weeks ago, but it 'disappeared' after processing. Finally found where the computer had hidden it. This is a 5-exposure HDR taken at my daughter's farm at Eppalock just before the storm hit. LR and Aurora Pro.
Love the colors.

Wonderful clouds and composition

@jgpittenger Thanks Jane, I was really quite annoyed when it 'vanished', along with all the various exposures too. Thank goodness for very quick great support from Aurora Pro!! Definitely A+.

Great shot an processing

Stunning processing, Marnie, with everything so clear from sky to land. And it's a beautiful scene benefitting from hdr quite well.

@graemestevens Thanks Graeme.

@taffy Many thanks Taffy, this scene was pretty much impossible without taking multiple exposures, big spectrum of light and shade. I'm really rapt in the new app (Mac only) Aurora Pro from Macphun. I rate it far better than Photomatix Pro.

@golftragic Does the App work with LR? I've not heard of it -- but your results are fantastic!

Yes it does. Aurora and Aurora Pro was developed by Trey Ratcliff of Stuck in Customs. He's an HDR nut, and does some very interesting and dramatic stuff. Don't like it all, but it's good. The app is available from MacPhun, who make some great Mac apps. One of the features I particularly like is the ability to change the brightness in the top and bottom of the image - able to adjust the transition zone too. Stacks of other great adjustments available too. Do check it out, not outrageously expensive.

@golftragic
What an interesting discussion. I recently downloaded Trey's free presets for LR and I also use some other Macphun apps. I will go and look at this one as you have recommended it Marnie.

Looking at this large, I see so much detail - this shot just says Australia to me!

I am pleased you found this image again. A great shot/s to show off the incoming storm.

some threatening clouds! wow

@dibzgreasley As you will have gathered, I love this app and am now using it a good deal. It's easy to use on a basic level, but I think it's time I spent some time learning how to use the app to a much fuller extent. Being Mac specific is, to my mind, an advantage too.

@dide Yes, I was very put out when it 'disappeared', and so pleased to find it again. I think I'll get this shot on to canvas as a present for my daughter whose house is in the shot.

@ninaganci Yep, it was a big storm Nina.

@golftragic I went to check it out but yikes its pricey for us! Our currency is so low at the moment what with the shenanigans of our government, so everything priced in $ and pounds has shot up! Never mind, I shall wait...

Wow, this looks like a Hans Heysen watercolour. So Australian, and beautiful.
