Melbourne Cup Day sweeps

Being the first Tuesday in November it was Melbourne Cup Day, a huge day of celebration and partying in Victoria in particular but plenty of interstate interest too. The golf club had a 4-ball competition this morning, followed by lunch with sweeps and the races on TV. Despite the ghastly weather it proved to be a great fun day all round. The Cup is rightly called the race that stops a nation.
Probably nearly two nations... so did you come out on top...

@julzmaioro I didn't know you Kiwis were into the MC too, interesting. Mind you Kiwi horses tend to do pretty well in the race don't they? On top? Nope, the horses I drew are still plodding round I'd reckon. Great day though, and who's gonna weep about $10?

Sounds similar to our Kentucky Derby only with less people taking time off! Sorry to hear your horses were out for a Sunday stroll instead of a race!

@robz Tin bum!!! I didn't put any bets on this year, just as well cos I'd've done my dough as things panned out. My sweep horses are still out there somewhere!!
