Gardeners in the concubines' baths

The extensive ruins at Sigiriya are amazing.
Looks quite large.

How fascinating to have been there and to wonder at the history of it all!

@joysabin Sure is, that's only a very small section of the whole place.

@Weezilou You're so right Louise. We are so privileged to be able to jet around the world and see these kinds of sights.

@gigiflower I'd reckon, those ancient rulers there were great at doing stuff with water.

I imagine that there is a lot of work involved in just keeping the surround vegetation at bay. You're right Marnie, we certainly are lucky to be able to travel to these beautifully preserved historic sights :)

Great place and capture.

It must have been quite the complex in its prime. Nicely captured in black and white. It must be in a constant state of care now.

@merrelyn Oh yes, there were workers all over the place. The ground are huge and peppered with interesting ruins. It's all heritage-listed now, of course. In fact, it's a World Heritage site. I'm posting a link with today's photo.

@jgpittenger That's one way of looking at it I guess. How's your knee?

@olivetreeann Even with just the remnants it's very impressive. The sophistication of the water features is incredible.

@haskar Thanks.
