FORF10: #21 Grassy lane

We live in an older suburb.
And how much nicer is that than a concrete laneway!!

What a great lane for b/w :)

I know you have this for the b&w comp but I would like to see the colour variant of this.

Perfect for the leading line theme. I love Belmont, it has such interesting old houses.

Nice image. Great lines. Fav

Great leading lines. Are the old lanes maintained by the council?
February 21st, 2019
@robz Oh definitely, it's too narrow for motor traffic anyway.

@gilbertwood Thanks, lots of photogenic lanes round here.

@followthatdreamphotography I'll post it today for you.

@onewing Yeah, I love this part of Belmont too Babs, despite our beloved council doing its best (not!) to advance 'progress' in the form of 'urban infill', ie bloody units crammed on the old 1/4 acre blocks like sardines. The long-term locals are not happy about what's going on, the developers and builders are gleeful, and the Melbourne people who are snapping up many of the units are gob-smacked at how cheap (by Melbourne standards) housing is down here. We wish we were young enough to move to the bush.

@caterina Thank you.

@merrelyn Oh yes, they're public thoroughfares. Mind you, I think the people on the adjourning properties sometimes mow the grass in that lane, mainly for safety's sake.

Great line and textures.

@haskar Thanks Haskar

Here's a case where the picture is much more interesting in black and white than it is in color. Your area sounds much like ours- I just heard a 98 unit apartment complex was approved to be built on our main thoroughfare. Mind you it hardly supports the traffic now...

@olivetreeann Depressing isn't it? Same kind of inappropriate housing development happening all over the place down here, and the roads aren't coping, just like yours.
