Signs of our times Mk 2: Sept 11

Geelong Technology Group, front counter.
Good to see that they are working on their social distancing. We are big x's and circles on the floor to remind us to stop and wait until told to come to the registers in stores. Fortunately, most pay attention and show their consideration towards others.

I am so amazed at all the signs you are finding, we don't have a fraction of them here.

We have lots of markings on the floors of shops arrows telling you which direction to walk and crosses on floor to wait 2 m apart at the tills. Most people following the guidance certainly in the small shop I have been going to. The rest of my shopping is done online for the first time. I read the notices while waiting in the queue!

We have markings on the floors of supermarkets and reminders about hand sanitising and social distancing but not much else.

Well done

@joysabin We have lots and lots of them too and, like your people, most folks do the right thing.

@ludwigsdiana We seem to have an obsession with signs.

@pamknowler Apart from the supermarkets and other big shops those marking are everywhere here too. Like your area, most people do as asked, thank goodness. I have done a fair bit of online shopping for a while and even more now. But I like to see my food before handing over my hard-earned.

@pamknowler Had to laugh at your comment re time to read in queues, that's where I was when I first thought of taking photos of the signs.

@aikiuser Absolutely right. If we all behave things will get better sooner.

@merrelyn I'm very envious. We keep seeing photos and articles from the rest of Oz while we're still in the deep freeze, very hard to take.

@jgpittenger Just what I thought. They're really great tech people there, a small user-friendly biz. When I needed tech help at home a few weeks back a bloke came very quickly and fixed my recalcitrant router. He told me that they're only doing home visits to return customers, ie people they know. He also said they kept getting people from (locked-down) Melbourne trying to get round the regulations and when the staff had to 'kick them out' some got very stroppy and mouthy. I felt very sorry for them, they're a great local asset.

@golftragic Mark has done a brilliant job but like you guy he's also copping it from the PM.

@merrelyn ScottyfromMarketing's just playing politics now, very disappointing and not winning any points round here. Interesting to hear the divergent opinions on the Premiers of the states with closed borders, seems to depend which side of the border you're on. Vics are definitely not supporters of Mark and Anastacia, especially the latter. Whereas Gladys and Steven have not been nearly so hardline.
