A bird from kingfisher family. Native to the eastern part of Australia but introduced to two other states of Australia; Tasmania and Western Australia and to New Zealand.

Thank you for your comment , and having a look at your album I shall follow - Love this capture of your Kookaburra - I have never seen one of these birds ,but fell in love with them as a child looking at picture books of birds - 1st it name intrigued me- its cheery look and the fact it "laughed" really more than caught my attention ! fav
