i had two pictures on PP this morning & i don't care how many discussions there are about the fairness/randomness/fallibility of this page, it made my Monday special - thanks so much for your huge support with comments/favs & advice :o)
every day our beach offers some unexpected gift - today these strange transparent mollusc-like skins - anyone know what they are ?
@gamelee@genesis_one they look like a mussel has shed its skin - and exactly like someone has shed their fingertips - still looking myself to find out exacly what they are
2 PPs!!!!! Amazing - good for you! You deserve that - even if your photos weren't fabulous, which they are, you are always so supportive of others on this site!
I do. I grew up in Vancouver, Canada. My grandfather built a sailboat when I was a kid. I was always at the beach. And this is simply an incredible shot!
How unusual, it doesn't seem real- looks like it is almost floating over the sand. I like the way the water's edge is picking up the white from the shell. It has helped build the undulating movement of sand and sea and shell
@pam1 thanks pam - it was really blustery yesterday and these were scattered all over the beach - its rock but does look quite sandy and this one was stuck to the rock so i could get a snap while the others were whirling around in the wind!
An interesting find, looks like fingerprints, I have no idea what it might be.
Both of your shots on PP was well deserved because I liked them a lot. The discussion about fairness of the PP appears every once in a while. I don't know how it works, but the shots are always great and its like winning in the lottery, you know you'll never win because the changes are very low, but its still thilling to get there
@khirsch thanks Karin ... I had just caught up on a massive amount of commenting on other people's pics so may have attracted monkeys attention by all that activity:0) Leah found the name for these ... velella! I posted another shot! Thanks for tip about Nikon. Think I'll get d3100 as is relatively cheap and probably better to learn on than d5100 ... unless u think better to invest in d5100 now. Is it much more complex do u know? Don't worry if u don't :0)
Nice capture!
Congrats on 2 PP's!
