no monkeys or panthers

... so focused on the trees themselves with their beautiful twisted trunks, heady pine fragrance & rarity value, rather than what wasn't playing in them!

you have no idea how close you came to having to gaze at another snail !
Great detail and texture, nicely focused on the tree trunk.

I think that tree trunks make really interesting subjects. They have lots of textures and shapes and you can really experiment with angles and composition. I have taken loads, and find the lighting hardest! These came out really well. I like the one you chose to focus on and the DOF is very effective

Beautiful, gnarly trunks and limbs. What kind of tree is this? I like the textures and your composition!

I think you captured more than you realized!
Is anyone else seeing the face profile in the cutoff limb?

i see a trre trunk, then a tree trunk shaped like goddess' statue, then a tree trunk that looks like a person in the act of diving. if one or any of your audience can see more than your actual subject, then you have taken a great shot because you were able to hold captive your audience's mind. depending on the perspective, the snail would've been awesome, too! :-)

Leave animals for other shots - those trees look amazing and details are so interesting!
