skyfall

... there has a been a quality to the light this week making it a gift for shadows & reflections - would you have cropped more from the top?
A really clever and interesting shot

No, I like the size of this photo, more cropping would have affected the pole.

Love this! That reflection is sublime. I love the rocky surrounds too. Gorgeous capture and a fav from me. As for the crop, it's a difficult one. You perhaps wanted to capture the top of the iron post but it is in a natural crop area at the top, where you get the wall and the cliffs. You could do some photoshopping and make the post shorter but then how would that affect the reflection? Not sure. I think I'd leave it as it is or perhaps even bring the brightness up a bit at the top of the image. Did you add a vignette? If so, it might look better without. But anyway, I love this as it is :)

going to try without vignette carol & take a bit more off top - good suggestion & really appreciate the feedback & thought you put into comment - makes a big difference - will play with it bit later! @sturnus

I'd leave the bit at the top. It looks too cut short that way, and unbalanced with the reflection which has that stone border. IMO.

@mercuria that's what i thought - and if you leave the whole pole it needs bit of space round it - but without vignette i can crop more off top - anyway - really must do some cleaning!

I would leave it, I moved the shot up and down on my screen and I personally like it as it is. It's a fabulous capture and I love the reflection.

Cool shot! I like the depth of field and the way the rocks rise at the end of the shot to 'close' it. I think it looks kind of incomplete with a closer crop

Love shooting reflections and I know how you love rust...nice combination.
Wouldn't change a thing.
Are they salt pans?

leave it, the pole offsets the picture, and a great reflection

I love it the way you have cropped it but think it may be better without the vignette. Great shot anyway.

Gorgeous and I would leave it.The image has a sense of place and a context.

Nicely done. Love the reflection and the rust.

@barrowlane it does look better without - or smaller lighter one for sure :o)

@4bellaarte yes salt pans which are no longer used but the ones around the corner are !

I'm a bit late with my comment...only just saw your album for the first time from your colourful goats picture...I wouldn't crop, because the space around the top of the iron pole is just right...perhaps just boost the shadows in the top bit of the picture if possible?
