Yesterday we went for a wander half way up Mount Taranaki to Wilkies Pools. These are a series of naturally formed rock pools, made by the Kapuni Stream as it flows down the Southern slopes of the mountain to Dawson Falls and then on to the sea. The water is crystal clear and untainted at this point (at least until I put my feet in it) and is one of my favourite places on the mountain.
