This is what passes for a beach in South Taranaki, where the men are men and the sheep are nervous. To be fair, when the tide is out the black sands do make an appearance and it seems, on first inspection, to be a nice spot albeit quite moody - I certainly had the place to myself when I took this which is just the way I like it. I find the solitude enables me to come up with bizarre schemes for underground lairs and world domination. I also liked the spike of rock at the base of the cliff...it was busy being all "sticky uppy" and appealed immensely.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
You can get your aperture right down to 1.9! Wow - makes for a super photo but the faraway cliff - beyond the sticky-uppy rock, is still a clear outline!
Really love the moodiness of this... And being the sucky grump that I am, I was really happy to see this shot after seeing a bunch of pretty puppies, bugs and flowers ;)
Powerfull image! I lvoed what you wrote, it made me laugh and then I had to spin it around and show it to my partner whilst reading out the text! great capture, love the moody feeling, dark and dangerous!
@kwind Low POV?? Are you calling me short??? ;) And thanks very much. @bigugly Yes, sorry about that... :) @pamknowler That's me! Awesome lensbaby shot. I take it that not much sun baking toes on here. Especially with those sticky uppy rocks. This certainly does look like a great place to plot world domination.
Wow, the LB effect really pulled me in . . . kicking and screaming! The atmosphere of this shot ruffled the hairs on the back of my neck, too. Terrific work! :) Fav.
@juliedduncan Thank you very much indeed :) @drfleury14 Thanks very much :) @tammyputney Thank you kindly, appreciated @karlow75 No sun baking at all as far as I'm aware - I'll go back in summer and check on that though, can't have commoners befouling my beach ;) @gamelee Thanks very much - I would have been overjoyed if it was a ghostly figure...
Lovely shot... and I appreciate the text, "when men are men, and sheep are nervous." It is already in my lexicon and I connect with the reference. :) Nothing more needs to be said about spike in the rock... nothing to see here, moving on.
