Play Date

Firstly, my eternal thanks must go to my two unwilling models Kyra (daughter) and her "bestie" Christie (spare daughter).
Inspired by a Danielle Tunstall who has done some truly amazing photography, if a little bit thought provoking and sometimes down right creepy...but I love it.
Genius!
December 16th, 2014
At least they are holding hands for support! Good on you, Kyra and Christie!
December 16th, 2014
@spanner Thanks very much, appreciated
December 16th, 2014
@maggiemae They say thank you, and I didn't traumatise them too much...just a few more dollars in the therapy pot.
December 16th, 2014
Bah ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaa! Very Stephen Kingesque, Graeme! Photo and title are to die for. Fave! ;)
December 16th, 2014
@juliedduncan Thank you so much :)
December 16th, 2014
Wow, I've just had a look at Danielle Tunstall's work and saw the image that was your inspiration for this one - I like the way you've built on it. Adding a second participant changes the 'game' completely. Nice one Graeme.
December 16th, 2014
So do I - this isn't just photography it's art - Fav
December 16th, 2014
Love this. Fav
December 16th, 2014
This is an amazing shot. And good on your models too. I am sure they had fun doing it too. A big fave for me.
December 16th, 2014
Super composition, Graeme.
December 16th, 2014
brilliantly disturbing - the image and your mind
December 17th, 2014
@vignouse Thanks very much - I actually "discovered" her work yesterday and have been completely blown away by it!
@scolgs Thank you so much, greatly appreciated :)
@rachelwithey Thank you very, very much :)
@karlow75 Thanks very much - I don't know about fun but that therapy pot is filling u with cash rather quickly
@bigugly Thank you very much ;)
@annied I'll take both thank you :)
December 17th, 2014
@graemestevens knew you would ha ha
December 17th, 2014
@annied Well...to be fair, you certainly know how to pay a compliment ;)
December 17th, 2014
@graemestevens why thank you kind sir - credit where credit is due
December 17th, 2014
Nice composition!
December 17th, 2014
Speaks a million words. Powerful message.
December 17th, 2014
yup... disturbing... puts me in mind of Diane Arbus (a photog that we did once for the artist challenge)... disturbing...
December 17th, 2014
@northy Thank you kindly - just had a look at Diane Arbus. I like it.
@danielcdillon Thank you very much indeed :)
@mikegifford Thank you very much :)
December 17th, 2014
@annied It's nice to be in credit for a change... ;)
December 17th, 2014
Awesome! I love it! I see you are getting more use out of the $3 toy gun-excellent!!
December 17th, 2014
@graemestevens ha ha especially at this time of year!!!
December 17th, 2014
@eyeamlisa Thank you very much - I'm impressed that you remember how much that bad boy cost me!
@annied You're not wrong and also quite right there
December 17th, 2014
@graemestevens oh no not right! Are you agreeing - tut tut :)
December 17th, 2014
as an aside - my youngest won't even look at me when I have camera let alone assist - she is a tad quirky though so maybe I should see if something like this would pique her interest - now to find a $3 gun
December 17th, 2014
I really like this shot! I'm not sure about the trauma to the kids and their later therapy - are you giving them ideas?! Haha. Have to fav it.
December 17th, 2014
@annied These two "models" were most unwilling. Then I waved my machete at them and they suddenly filled with enthusiasm
@888rachel Thank you very much - the therapy pot is full so they can have as much as they need!
December 17th, 2014
Sick and wrong and so endearing and loveable for that. Fav!
December 17th, 2014
This is indeed creepy, but pretty fantastic too!
December 17th, 2014
@graemestevens ahhh yes machetes have that effect - all hail the machete!
December 17th, 2014
DEADLY !
December 17th, 2014
@amandal Snigger - it's just how I roll - and thank you :)
@shesnapped Thanks very much indeed :)
@joemuli Well...they are teenage girls so deadly is probably the right choice of word ;)
@annied It would be my weapon of choice, much like tourettes would be my illness of choice.
December 17th, 2014
@graemestevens hahahaha I like the idea of a machine gun - maximum impact with little effort but it isn't quite as personal as the machete - and tourettes - well I am sure there are times I have that hahahaha
December 17th, 2014
@annied I think to be truly disturbed and unbalanced that the personal touch is a necessity. If you can't get up close and personal and smile at them while maintaining eye contact it's just not worth it.
December 17th, 2014
@graemestevens that is quite true - I will have to get on to practicing that - machete wielding takes a certain arm strength I must develop
December 17th, 2014
Such charming, bloody, knees. :) The gas mask is wonderful! Very cool.
December 17th, 2014
@rosiekerr Thanks very much :)
December 17th, 2014
Wow, disturbing and amazing...really makes me look and think! Big fav from me!
December 17th, 2014
To me this is a very emotive image, well done :)
December 17th, 2014
Wow, that one is very creepy. Before or after the massacre?
December 17th, 2014
Awesomely creepy. And I don't know why, and I wish it hadn't, but the song 'Goodbye, Earl' by the Dixie Chicks popped into my head as soon as I saw the pic!
December 17th, 2014
@ukandie1 Thank you very much, much appreciated :)
@hermann Thank you very much indeed :)
@golftragic Thank you...I'm thinking after...
@tabarlett Thanks very much - don't know that one but I'll have a listen later :)
December 17th, 2014
Sensational shot, love the textures
December 17th, 2014
@graemestevens @northy I visited the Diane Arbus site - I must say the image of the "twin" girls I find quite unnerving
December 17th, 2014
@annied Really? Rather liked that one...

December 18th, 2014
@terryliv Only some of them...most of them...yes?
December 18th, 2014
Not the usual school photo Graeme.
Really macabre and sinister, but very well executed (no pun intended).
December 18th, 2014
@pools82 Thanks very much - maybe there's a career opportunity out there as a school photographer...
December 18th, 2014
