It's a busy day for me today as I am single handedly putting a new ceiling into my daughters bedroom...really living life on the edge. With that in mind here is Wiz, one of our retired/rescued greyhounds. He insists on sitting behind my chair at the table in the vain hope of catching any dropped food but as yet, after 4 years, has not figured out that he doesn't fit there.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
@annied I surround myself with pretty things ;) @melston He is indeed, he's a big softy too :) Our other one, Lucy, is jet black and very camera shy @gigiflower He goes with any outfit - apparently it's called caramel brindle
Love him! I love Greyhounds... used to have a neighbor on my block growing up and I begged my mom every day to go see them. The owner didn't mind, but my mom thought I was intruding on the neighbor's privacy. :)
@joemuli He's a big couch potato @cndglnn So do we - when we lived in the UK my cousin had two, which was the first time we'd seen them as pets, so when we moved back to NZ we had to have them! They're just amazing creatures, wouldn't be without them!
@divast8er He is, he's been lying there all day pretending to fit in that limited space @bigugly Thanks very much - he's camouflaged for when we go out lurking... @jack4john Well. Ummm...okay then, thanks ;) @annied No one get's to see my "man garden" without prior approval. @cndglnn Thanks - he seems to appreciated it too!
He looks like he knows a thing or two......you must have greyhound racing in NZ too! Good luck with that ceiling, I think your arms are going to be double the length when you have finished!
The expression on Wiz is priceless - we have greyhound rescue orgs here in Wisconsin (because we also have or have had greyhound racing) - I've had the opportunity to meet and pet several of them - they are so sweet - I've heard they have two speeds - fast as all get out and couch potato...... :)
@deak68 I walk out two for about 15 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes at night and then they spend the day sleeping...I wish I could do the same ;) @happypat We do have racing here as well but the only thing Wiz knows is where the food comes from ;) @annied Well spotted. It was intentional of course, just to make sure that you're paying attention. Which I clearly am not.
It always cracks me up when dogs do this. It looks as if he is trying to blend in with the wall - maybe he figures that if you do drop food. he will have more chance of snagging a piece, since obviously he is invisible.
@eyeamlisa He often thinks his invisible, particularly when lying on the sofa next to me, then he makes the fatal mistake of high giving me in the face when he stretches @thistle Thanks very much...and yes, he always seems to appear in a position that will be of the most benefit to him. @yaorenliu I'll pass that on to him :) @888rachel Thanks very much - he tries to squeeze in everywhere he can :) @jack4john Ah, gotcha.
@tonygig Thank you very much - he should be happy, after all he gets to sit on the sofa every day and eat most of my food @pools82 Thanks very much - just a quick shot before I started the harder work of the day
