Humble Abode by graemestevens

Humble Abode

Ahhh, the Summer Palace...I think the lawns need mowing and it could do with a lick of paint, but other than that we're good to go.
Unfortunately I couldn't get any closer than this as the somewhat dubious neighbours decided to start yelling at me and threatened to release their dog after shot 5...which makes me wonder what they've got hidden in there.
Very cool on black if you have the time.
Oh you must return......with full weaponry of course lol
September 3rd, 2015
@annied Indeed I must. I shall hit them repeatedly with a fully loaded cucumber or some such.
September 3rd, 2015
Home sweet home... neat processing..
September 3rd, 2015
@julzmaioro Thanks - I surprised myself by using colour but didn't do too much to the sky...
September 3rd, 2015
Natural ventilation is always good! Umbrellas also come in usefully! Love this desolate, abandoned, ruin that always makes the photographers stop in their tracks!
September 3rd, 2015
My kinda place--coolio!

Sue
Oh that is a lovely photo. Brilliant!
September 3rd, 2015
@maggiemae Thanks very much _ think you'd need more than one umbrella to live here!
@aikiuser Thank you kindly :)
@sioux Thank you very much :)
September 3rd, 2015
Moody on black! A photographers heaven, shame about being yelled at!
September 3rd, 2015
@dibzgreasley Thanks very much - I'll go back at some point, there's an abandoned freezing works right over the road
September 3rd, 2015
Now I wonder why they were shouting at you! Were you wearing your gas mask perhaps? Love the result. Fav
September 3rd, 2015
@shepherdmanswife I was dressed perfectly respectably (for a change) thank you very much - as much as I hate to judge a book by it's blah blah, they had the look of people who were up to no good anyway!
September 3rd, 2015
Lover your composition. And the slightly darker stripe entering your shed from heaven nicely matches your story...
September 3rd, 2015
@mastermek Thanks very much - I didn't notice that strip until I downloaded the shot, quite strange
September 3rd, 2015
Great textures and tones. Definite air of dereliction.
September 3rd, 2015
Your neighbors are keeping aliens, no doubt.
September 3rd, 2015

September 3rd, 2015
A wonderful crumply building... with all the air conditioning, perfect for the summer season!

Sounds very dodgy to me!! Great image - Fav!!

Location, location, location. If people didn't let their sheds rot what would we take photos of!
September 5th, 2015
a brand new mercedes perhaps?
September 5th, 2015
@summerfield Well...it would be rude not too...if I had the money ;)
@gamelee Absolutely the golden rule - and I might let my shed go just for the sake of a few good shots.
September 5th, 2015
Wonderful pic, love the opening comments, a summer palace!
September 5th, 2015
@photographycrazy Thanks very much - I think I'll leave it for someone else to move in though
September 5th, 2015
Love it. Great comp, and I now also wonder what precious commodity is hidden inside.
September 6th, 2015
Could it be coffee, or latte fixin's?
September 6th, 2015
@bill_fe If it was coffee I'd be in there but I think it may well be something a touch more "suspect"
September 6th, 2015
Fabulous....wonderful processing and capture!
I do like me a fixer-upper, but this one is a bit extreme....not really caring for the neighbors, either!
September 10th, 2015
@panthora The neighbours were a delight...
