in the thick of it

Colour. Ack. Help me.
Wonderful textures and green shades.

It's not your usual style but still mysterious and fantastical. It looks like that tree has tentacles.
December 1st, 2016
@kevinrudzinski It's about as far from my usual as it's possible to get - I think I need counselling...
@kwind Thank you very much :)
December 1st, 2016
uhm... yes... so... perhaps we need to stage an intervention?
December 1st, 2016
@northy It might be timely. Things are getting out of hand.
December 1st, 2016
Perfect

The ferns look like menacing tendrils. Excellent.
December 1st, 2016
@shylaine3304 Thank you very much :)
@taffy This is at the base of an area on our mountain known as "The Goblin Forest"...it's been so wet lately that I wasn't able to go any further in but it does get quite creepy in there. I like it of course...

Very cool!

@harbie That's very diplomatic of you ;)
December 1st, 2016
Fantastic light, colors and textures. Certainly a beautiful scene.
December 1st, 2016
elements of middle earth...
December 1st, 2016
I like this, it reminds me of Jurassic park!! Shame there are no dinosaurs!!
December 1st, 2016
Oh wow, at first I thought I'd hit the wrong name ;)
Looks intriguing - love the name
December 1st, 2016
That tree and its roots have potential - B&W, underexposed to create an air of menace, lots of mid-range micro-contrast and Taraaa... you have a Goblin Forest!
December 1st, 2016
Fantastic nature shot...Fav
December 1st, 2016
Wonderful textures!! Love those roots coming to get you!! Fav!
December 1st, 2016
wow I didn't think you had a colour button
December 1st, 2016
Colour's great - nice image.
December 1st, 2016
Hate to tell you but fab image :)
December 1st, 2016

December 1st, 2016
yes, fern "trees" make their own sense.
December 1st, 2016
@domenicododaro They do at that...
@cutekitty I do like some good shrubbery
@hermann Bah humbug!
@dide Thank you kindly :)
@pinkpaintpot I think my camera is broken...
@pamknowler Thank you very much :)
@tonygig Thank you kindly :)
@vignouse Indeed...but, as you can see, I could even get that right. I did have an idea for this shot though so we shall see...
@ingrid2101 Thank you very much - I thought I'd hit the wrong name as well...
@jclaireyp Just the one behind the camera...
@hrs True...wait, are you saying I have hairy feet???
@paul10 Thank you very much - I'm going o go back and burn it tot he ground so that no one else can enjoy it.
December 1st, 2016
@graemestevens noooooooooo!
December 1st, 2016
It would look funny in B&W - love that forest floor!
December 1st, 2016
Very cool name for the forest. That alone makes me want to investigate further. Has a mystical atmosphere.
December 1st, 2016
It will pass, hold tight!
December 1st, 2016
Did I fall into a parallel universe? Next you'll be smiling...
December 1st, 2016
Lord of the Flies? Yikes looks like deep jungle in there.
December 1st, 2016
@golftragic I couldn't get any further in either due to the somewhat moist weather we've been experiencing lately...
@lizhammond That will never happen!
@yrhenwr I'm holding...
@salza It does indeed, and in parts it can be more than a little creepy...
@maggiemae It would probably look better in B&W ;)
December 1st, 2016
@graemestevens The weather's crazy, lots of rain Sept/Oct, hardly any Nov or Dec (so far). Garden doesn't know whether it's Arthur or Martha. Climate change anyone?
December 1st, 2016
@golftragic According to Mr Trump climate change is just a myth...so it must be true
December 1st, 2016
Ah the Goblin Forest, even though it is colour, it is still suitably gloomy!
December 1st, 2016
@dkbarnett I think I may have to have a play with this image - I really think it would suit B&W better. I have no idea what possessed me to post it in colour!
December 1st, 2016
Looks like a rain forest, excellent
December 2nd, 2016
@susale Thank you very much - the forest on Mount Egmont is very loosely classed as a rain forest...
December 2nd, 2016
But with such a bizarre and awesome tree, it's forgivable... almost necessary? I want to be near that tree. It may swallow me whole though...
December 2nd, 2016
@kerosene You're too late, I chopped it down...
December 2nd, 2016
my kind of space
December 4th, 2016
@annied It's too late now, I've burned it down.
