Its hard to get a very sharp image in total darkness without a flash of course. Had you thought of increasing your ISO (that stands for 'Intelligence, Sensibility and Omnipotence)?
@maggiemae I didn't use the flash as I didn't want to...personally I don't like to use the flash and very rarely do, and seldom go above an ISO of 100. I also thought that this image was sharp enough for what I was trying to accomplish, and was quite happy with the minimal lighting...that was after all the whole idea :)
Hmmm.. I think it's plenty sharp? Mind you, my aging eyes might be deceiving me, and I generally prefer a bit of softness for this kind of thing anyway... and the lighting is indeed lovely... as an aside, I don't think I've ever had a problem (that I am aware of) for getting a sharp image in a low light set up shot... maybe I've been deceiving myself?
