I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
The rust pops wonderfully . The clouds are fabulous. The pov just right. Pity about the haloing along the horizon. Do you know what makes that happen. I hate it when it happens to me
@jgpittenger Thanks - I believe that the haloing is usually caused by increasing the clarity and highlights too much in LR. In this case though that haloing is actually the sea...if you look to the right of the shot you can see one of the three islands that usually makes an appearance in my shots. This was shot at midday so the light was hardly ideal...and I couldn't get low enough to hide the horizon...and there's a little bit of haloing ;) The struggle is real. @pamgleason Thank you very much :) @littleconnie Thank you very much - I seem to be spending a lot of time on my knees lately. @annied Piranha @kevin365 It'll be freight forward I'm afraid, but sure. @juliedduncan It is isn't it...sometimes I get it right ;) @nicolecampbell Thank you very much :) @alophoto It's too hot at the moment for that lark!
I really like the composition and the shape/color/textures. A thought for what it's worth for another composition from this same shot -- cropping down from the top and in from the right so there is about 1/3 of the amount of sky (changing proportions so the foreground shackle's right edge still has space -- maybe 1/5 in. It would heighten the pop of the shackles. I like this one...just thinking of other possibilities as the shackle is a very interesting shape/tone/texture/main-subject.
@bokehdot Thank you very much :) @jesperani Thank you very much :) @taffy Thank you very much - I'm always open to suggestions! Or suggestion. Sometimes I'm also very easily led ;) @atchoo Thank you very much :) @maggiemae Yes you're right, it is a different colour. @joansmor It does a bit...no fangs though so we should be okay @silverhorn Thank you very much :)
I both hope and fear I'm going to dream about a planet where the first creatures to crawl out of the sea evolved structure based on iron, not calcium. OH, and excellent photo.
