shackled

There's even rust on my beach these days.
Oh this is fab, but what, no gas mask?
January 11th, 2018
This is really good, I like the hint of colour with the rust, it works so well against the monochrome theme
January 11th, 2018
And beautiful rust it is!
January 11th, 2018
Spectacular editing. I was wondering where I left that. I'll send my po box, if you could forward along, much obliged.

Great perspective and DoF. Like the colouring too for this great shot.
January 11th, 2018
Oh wow. This is awesome!
January 11th, 2018
The rust pops wonderfully . The clouds are fabulous. The pov just right. Pity about the haloing along the horizon. Do you know what makes that happen. I hate it when it happens to me
January 11th, 2018
@jgpittenger Thanks - I believe that the haloing is usually caused by increasing the clarity and highlights too much in LR. In this case though that haloing is actually the sea...if you look to the right of the shot you can see one of the three islands that usually makes an appearance in my shots. This was shot at midday so the light was hardly ideal...and I couldn't get low enough to hide the horizon...and there's a little bit of haloing ;) The struggle is real.
@pamgleason Thank you very much :)
@littleconnie Thank you very much - I seem to be spending a lot of time on my knees lately.
@annied Piranha
@kevin365 It'll be freight forward I'm afraid, but sure.
@juliedduncan It is isn't it...sometimes I get it right ;)
@nicolecampbell Thank you very much :)
@alophoto It's too hot at the moment for that lark!
January 11th, 2018
@graemestevens nup octopus - I know a few piranhas
January 11th, 2018
Great pov and focus. Perhaps haloing is caused by strong contrast in this place, but this is very oppressive.
January 11th, 2018
Very dramatic and cool composition.

Looks like a metal snake
January 11th, 2018
Well, its a different colour than the beach so really stands out!
January 11th, 2018
Great POV, love the rusty red colours together with the greys and blues.
January 11th, 2018
I really like the composition and the shape/color/textures. A thought for what it's worth for another composition from this same shot -- cropping down from the top and in from the right so there is about 1/3 of the amount of sky (changing proportions so the foreground shackle's right edge still has space -- maybe 1/5 in. It would heighten the pop of the shackles. I like this one...just thinking of other possibilities as the shackle is a very interesting shape/tone/texture/main-subject.
January 11th, 2018
Love this

I both hope and fear I'm going to dream about a planet where the first creatures to crawl out of the sea evolved structure based on iron, not calcium. OH, and excellent photo.
