back beach by graemestevens

back beach

This is "my" beach (again), locally known as Back Beach. It was a good wash and a great sky again, and this time I have left in the now decommissioned power station chimney and associated power lines.
The station was decommissioned in 2007 and demolished a few year after, with the exception of the chimney as that has a very high asbestos content so it apparently must remain rather than being pulled apart and running the risk of killing us all slowly.
It is something of a local landmark and towers over the port and Breakwater Bay on the other side of Paritutu "Rock" (which) is the larger promontory to the left of centre in this shot.
Fabulous tones and detail. Do you have a website Graeme? Do you sell prints?
