gregory of nin

Tall chap, pointy fingers, likes a good book.
Apparently he came a cropper with the church back in 926 when he insisted on introducing the Croatian language in to church services so that his parishioners could better understand. What an outrage.
Apparently if you want all of your wishes to be fulfilled you simply need to rub his...big toe...
Alas, I remain a middle aged white male with a slowly receding hair line and a love of fine wine.
This is the only POV to take a shot from without getting the great unwashed in frame.
dramatic … excellent POV

great POV and story :)

Fav. Wow...love the perspective.

Sometimes trying to cut away the great unwashed helps capturing the best perspectives. Seldom, actually, but this is one case!

haha i enjoy everything about this, especially the pointy fingers and your always entertaining narrative. we went to split once, and some of the islands fairly nearby - all pretty scenic - have a great time :)

A Grand capture...fav

He does look rather menacing from this angle. Interesting that, although he displeased the authorities for his tampering with the liturgy, he still managed to maintain a statue in his honour.

Love the composition!

@humphreyhippo Thank you kindly :)
@gardencat He seems to be something of a local hero...or his big toe is anyway...
@tonygig Thank you very much :)
@pistache It's very scenic in parts. In other parts, not so much.
@domenicododaro I agree - sometimes I like to have the hoi-polloi in shot just so that I can feel better about myself ;)
@gardenfolk Thank you very much :)
@koalagardens Thank you kindly :)
@brigette He was kind of hard to miss...tall bugger ;)
@jamibann Thank you very much :)
@salza As am I if he doesn't stop with this heat!
@julzmaioro Thank you very much - I'm all in favour of a bit of grunge...
@lynnz Thanks very much :)

July 24th, 2019
Awesome pov!
July 25th, 2019
So good you could find a GU-free pov!! Love this shot, he does look very authoritative. Can't imagine why he thought Latin had had its day though, the cheek.

July 25th, 2019
Ahh, but the question is --- did he get away with it??
July 25th, 2019
@golftragic Knowing the church, probably not...although he is something of a local legend.
