Elevator

This elevator was literally big enough to hold a horse. It is rumored to have been built to accommodate President Grant and his horse for a visit in 1880 to the Capital Hotel, so named because of a comment near its inception about it being a "capital building...". Needless to say we ended up here instead of the Marriott and got the better accommodations.
