Close Encounter

Our temperatures have been as low as 15°F/-9°C and only rising to 32°F/0°C for the last couple of days. That is quite cold for Alabama so my fireplace and l have been spending a lot of quality time together.
Yay! Its Katy! Glad you are staying warm.

Beautiful capture!!!! We are on intimate terms with ours too, especially as concrete buildings mean that its often warmer outside at this time of year!!!! xx

@summerfield LOL! only you! I do now!
@nicolecampbell Thanks for the support Nicole
@lesip How nice of you to say. I am not surprised it is cold for you.
@ruthmouch Thanks. Blessed to have a way to keep warm. I can't imagine dealing with that,
@maggiemae it actually was prettier than this but I see what you mean about it looking like fabric
@henrir Thanks Henri. I had a bit of a time catching it because the light was low and the flames wouldn't hold still for me to focus!

You captured such defined flames! They look awesome against the black background. By the way, I didn't know you live in Alabama. My grandfather was from Opelika, Alabama. :D

Capturing flames is not a easy as you would think because of the low light. There were lots of out of focus shots!
Opelika is only about an hour from where l live! Small world?

I almost looks like the fire is trying to spell out a message- great capture. Ours has been running non-stop for some time.

@grammyn - Haha well at least you caught as I would have never known! That's so cool that you're not too far from my grandfathers hometown. I only been there once, My family passed through on a road trip when I was 13 years old.
