Halfway There

Typically, I don't like to bake in the summertime because of, well, you know, HEAT! However a severe storm blew through this afternoon and it seemed to set the perfect ambiance for some cookie making. Applesauce drop cookies (ingredients shown here) and orange drop cookies (without the frosting) are safely ensconsed in the freezer to be enjoyed on many future dates. Well, the ones that I haven't already eaten anyway!
Yummy! I rarely bake anymore because I would eat all of it!(Whatever makes it past the preferred dough stage!)

Terrific way to take advantage of a cooler day.

Nice shot! Was it cooler during the storm? I don't like to heat up the kitchen in this heat!

great baking shot

Wonderful storytelling image. I love orange drop cookies, actually my recipe does not call for frosting but I bet it’s good!

Nice composition. My problem is that I eat too much what's on that cutting board before its ready to add to the dough.

I’d better stop looking at this and get to bed — otherwise I’ll succumb to the temptation to head to the kitchen for whatever will satisfy cookie cravings.

Please do not DM my cookies

Those look like they'd be really tasty (even though I don't see any chocolate chips in sight).

That sounds delicious, love your well worn cookbook too ;-)

You've captured the task perfectly!

Beautifully staged!

Oh boy- now I have a hankering for chocolate chip cookies! Thankfully it's just too hot to bake them even in the early AM when you can sometimes get away with lighting the oven up here! Yours sound yummy!

I recognize the old Betty Crocker cookbook. I think this is the one I have.

Nice story and still life. Cookies sound good.

@wyomingsis thankfull I still have help in the eating department! @shutterbug49 Not really cooler but not as hot as it could have been either Thanks
@eudora Thanks It wasn't really what I would call cool but the sun stopped shining so it wasn't sweltering!
@annied I appreciate that Annie thanks!
@louannwarren Thanks lou Ann. They tasted good enough without the frosting so in an attempt to cut calories I left the frosting off!
@dutchothotmailcom Thanks Esther. I have the same problem!
@mcsiegle LOL! I am sorry? Didn't mean to initiate cravings!
@ktip LOL! Of course not! thankfully that is not a possibility or I might have some serious problems! ;~}
@taffy well, you are right about the chocolate but they are good in spite of that. Kind of like a spice cake
@ludwigsdiana thank you Diana. They are very good. The cookbook was a wedding gift form my parents so it is 52 years old and well used
@scoobylou Thank you Lana That is so nice of you to say!
@marilyn thanks It was a struggle becuase I am not that organized when it comes to baking!
@olivetreeann Sorry? It is usually too hot here too. Putting them in the freezer slows the consumption process whic is great because they are tasty!
@tunia I got mine in 1967 as a wedding gift! We may have discussed this once before too when I posted https://365project.org/grammyn/365/2018-12-06. We got married the same year!
@randystreat Thanks Kathy! They are and if you lived closer I would give you some! We could share them over a game of Pig Mania!
August 13th, 2020
@grammyn Wouldn't that be great with a glass of iced tea.
August 14th, 2020
@randystreat Yes ma'am Can't figure out how to accomplish THAT virtually though! ;~}
