Survival Mode

I put a 6" long(15.24cm) 2x4 (5.08x10.16cm) piece of wood in the pool skimmer so bugs and critters that fall into the pool don't have to die in the skimmer. This morning when I checked it this tiny little gecko was clinging to the top of it. I ran for my camera but the picture is not as clear as I would like because of the close to 90% humidity. It takes forever for the camera to acclimate after being inside in the AC
ooooh so pleased you could save him

I have the same issue with the camera fogging up.... pretty annoying.
You are the best...... :) I am wondering if this little gecko has that tiny bug in mind for snack.

Smart idea- and one that went right to work! Although I wouldn't want him running around my house, I wouldn't want him to drown either. Good shot!

@annied me too. I have lost a lot of animals like that in the past
@dutchothotmailcom thank you. I doubt it since he was crawling all over the gecko right before I took this shot!
@shutterbug49 one of my daughters told me about it because she knows I don't like to see dead things in the skimmer
@scoobylou thanks Lana
@ludwigsdiana thanks Diana tha shot not so great .... a life saved really great!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond That bug just crawled off of him a second before l took this shot so l would say he isn't interested
@linnypinny it always makes me feel good to save one!
@olivetreeann I love all the animals in my yard and always feel bad when one dies because of me! Thanks Ann

@grammyn if ever you find little ones like this and it seems like they're almost dead - putting them under or on some heat will set them right in most cases - geckos can drop their tails when frightened though - happened to me once - saw what I think was him out in the garden some time later because I could see where the tail had grown back

@anniedthanks Annie for that advice. Right now heat is not a problem as our weather is still very much summer here!
