Nov. 23 Thankful For...

...all the benefits of modern medicine.

When my husband severely cut the tip of his finger off we were able to go to an emergency room, be seen by a doctor, and get a referral to a surgeon today. The surgeon feels it will heal with very little lasting damage. Many people in the world do not have readily available medical care.
Glad to know your husband will heal so well. Impressive pictures!

Gaaaak!😳 I saw his pic yesterday and was just as horrified! But, yes, something to be thankful for! Reminds me of Dad's battle with a Dado blade!! (He lost too!)

Oh my goodness! That has to be painful, it’s pretty amazing his finger will heal without any surgery! I so agree with you, our healthcare is wonderful.

That hurts to look at. I hope it will help you to hear that 50 years ago my brother cut off the last digit of one of his fingers in a sliding door. We took the tip with us to emergency. They repaired it and his finger is a bit stiff, but fine today. So good luck to you and him.

Oh my gosh this gives me the willies just looking at it. A friend did something similar recently. Good that he was well cared for!

Yikes- flash backs to when my grandmother cut a portion of her finger off with the lawnmower. But I never saw pictures of the injury- just the healed finger. Get well wishes to your husband and hopefully not too much pain as the nerve endings wake-up after the pain medication wears off. Graphic but powerful collage!

Omg ! Wishing him the best , it looks so painful , I can hardly watch it !

@maggiemae He was planing a piece of wood on a big machine and the wood jumped causing his hand to go into the blade. So don't machine plane any wood to avoid this type of injury! Very painful!
