Hooping Required by grammyn

Hooping Required

In order to use the embroidery portion of the machine, a hoop must be attached to the embroidery unit which is connected to the machine here https://365project.org/grammyn/365/2021-04-03
The hoop contains the stabilizer and fabric that will be stitched on (but there is none of that in this photo). I have three hoops. 4x4" (120x120mm), 5x7" (130x180mm) and 14x8" (360x200mm) The conversions are not precise. Most of my embroidery is done with the 4x4 or the 5x7 hoop.
I would like to see a piece of your embroidery finished certainly a fab machine Katy

Wow, seriously, this can not be easy.

my embroidery would be done by hand, if i would have a need to embroider. thankfully, i don't. i really admire your gizmo, is that what you used to embroider the initials on the masks you sent me? aces!

This is so interesting. I have friends who do machine embroidery, but I didn't have a clue how it is done.

Enjoying all the specifics of this series! Technology is amazing and your mastery of it is so impressive! As you well know, Technology and I are NOT friends!

Fascinating! I never thought about it, but I supposed to do embroidery the proper way you would need a hoop holding it taut.

What a great shot!

Far too intricate for me, but another great pic to shows the tricks your machine can do!

You and my mum would get in do well, she has sewed for most of her life and is very talented

Nicely captured - love the light/dark contrast

You would be very skilled at this - meticulous work and with great patience!

@Dawn this is something I did several years ago. https://365project.org/grammyn/365/2017-08-02 I hope to show you something soon that I am currently doing
@30pics4jackiesdiamond see the link above. It does NOT do the washing up!
@dutchothotmailcom it does take a bit of practice
@summerfield This is so much faster than by hand but there is a certain feeling of cheating for using the machine. I think I used my smaller machine to do the masks because it has a smaller hoop
@eudora thanks Diane. The preparation takes a bit of trouble but the machine does most of the work!
@wyomingsis Girl! Technology is not my friend either but I appreciate those kind words!
@mcsiegle you ae absolutely correct
@ludwigsdiana how nice of you to say Diana! thanks
@kwiksilver as with anything it took babysteps for me and I am still learning. Thanks Gillian
@nicolecampbell That is really nice of you to say! I am not a very good sewer really because I like to take shortcuts so my work looks good on the outside but not always great on the inside!
@linnypinny Thanks Lin That was necessary to keep the clutter from showing!
@maggiemae you arfe right about the patience. Meticulous and skilled might be a stretch, but thank you!

This is no beginner machine! I'll bet it's fun embroidering in this manner.

@randystreat The potential for it to mess up big time is there so there is some stress involved but it is great fun to watch the designs come together! Definitely NOT a beginner machine .....at least not for me!
