The embroidery presser foot, needle and thread preparing to stitch out a design. The built in needle threader is the white horizontal bar to the left of the needle. In theory it sounds like a nifty device but I find it more tedious to use than the old fashioned way. When I first learned to sew on my mother's treadle machine there was no automatic threader and that is one habit that is ingrained at my age!
Well done on black. I learned to sew on my grandmother's treadle and wish I had it. I have to admit that the last time I used my sewing machine I had to go to youtube for a tutorial on how to thread it!
Like the way the black background shows the detail. It's neat how these photos have brought up so many memories. Sewing was such a huge part of my life growing up. My mother was a skilled seamstress and continued to sew into her 80's. She did the most precise flat-felled seams on her old Necchi machine. I never reached her level of skill....
Although I can clearly see this is a sewing machine, it feels a lot like a spaceship! I would be the same way- more used to threading it myself than using an automated threader. Good shot.
