Fallen Food Feast by grammyn

Fallen Food Feast

I had no idea my pear tree had produced any pears until I saw this beautiful butterfly outside my kitchen window feasting on one that had fallen. I tried to get a clearer shot outside but had to settle for this one through the screen because he flew away when I went outside.
The sight of that pear makes me cringe in a way. Whenever our pears landed on the ground and were half eaten by birds, the wasps came in in their dozens! Far better to have a butterfly!

Love the way the light reflects off the fruit. We have the same issue with our nectarine tree right now.

That was shot through a screen, that surprised me. Those butterflies are so hard to get. You did well

But the screen gives it a certain softness whic is nice

I have to agree. Shooting through the screen gave it a very interesting effect to the photo. Great shot!

Nice catch and nicely captured!
August 16th, 2021
It's tricky to catch them. You have to move so slowly and a very little bit at a time, stopping at least 30 seconds or more between movement. Good try.

Thank you for asking ! I am fine - my hemoglobin in back in the normal range and ferritin numbers are good also.
I have not been very active on 365 since I am working on a huge project for Christmas and need to get it done before the first week of September.

@grammyn LOL I was probably out on the deck trying to take pictures of my Black Swallowtail without scaring it away. (o;

Pretty clear shot for through a screen. That's the reason I can't get a good sharp photo of the birds in my backyard and at the feeders.
