Photographic rubbish but the entertainment value is over the moon! These five wonderful, friendly, thoughtful, and fun ladies joined me today for our second international tournament of Pigmania and Pass the Pigs. The first game followed American rules and the second one followed British rules. The Americans were properly trounced in both games so the British team remains undefeated. In spite of that fact everyone had a marvelously fun time and can't wait for the next game and/or tournament. All participants are 365 members

Tremendous fun with fabulous friends! At least you got a picture to mark the occasion. I didn't even THINK of a screenshot or snap. I think the American Pigs need to go to an athletic camp for expert practice before the next International Tournament. π
@kjarn I actually think it is not a matter of countries, but of the old vintage Pigmania versus the newer Pass the Pigs. I bet if we bought a new Pass the Pigs game here in the US it would have the same different rules as our British friends are used to. Though...someone did mention learning about some very different rules in Australia or New Zealand. So maybe my theory is HOGwash. π
@mcsiegle so maybe thereβs a third set of rules, interesting. All I know is that the game I have is called Pass the Pigs and according to the box itβs made in the UK
@mcsiegle I just did a bit of googling and when the game was invented in 1977 it was called Pigmania but then it was sold to Milton Bradley in the 80s and the name changed to Pass the Pigs
@kjarn Thanks! I had forgotten what I had read some time ago about the game. I knew it had changed, but didn't remember it was sold to Milton Bradley. I wonder if the name Pigmania and the copyright wasn't included in the sale. I just think it's such a great game name. But Pass the Pigs seems to better suit the newer or British rules. Those rules are more challenging than the older (American) rules we usually play with. You have to decide whether to pass or keep tossing. With the older rules you just keep tossing until your turn ends with a Pig Out, which doesn't cost you any points -- just ends your turn. I'd love to know whether the rules you have are the same as Sue and Jackie and Carole have or if there really is a third version of rules. We'll have to compare sometime.
