Ghost Mission by granagringa

Ghost Mission

The Willamette Mission was one of, if not the earliest, of missions in Oregon dating back to the 1830s. These represent the structures that were built on this site at that time...the actual size and outline of the original buildings. The site turned out to be a dismal choice and the mission was forced to move a few years later from the banks of the Willamette where these were located.
Cool shot, Granagringa! I've been to the park several times, but have missed this. Hope you're well & enjoying summer!

Love the narrative, thank you..
What an unusual, but extremely effective, monument.. love your chosen PoV and the oppressive vignette, echoing the dark times the folk endured.

So interesting how they decided to leave up these structures. It makes me try to imagine how they looked.

@cjphoto I am so appreciative that you have taken the time to comment on each photo...how do you manage your time????

@granagringa - You're so very welcome! I'm still having a hard time managing it all AND being on this project. But I had some extra time and decided to have some fun going through your photos! You never fail to leave me entertained! I'm especially loving what you're doing with the twisties...as I know, using the same subject in different ways really tests your creativity but it somehow all works out!
