Not quite the effect I was hoping for...a bit bright in the background. I'll have to try this again at different times of day. Add to the list of photos-to-be-taken! That list just keeps growing....
I like it as it is. I guess you wouldn't want any detail in the background but your camera decided you should have. Maybe a flood of light would work? Not sure how to achieve it in camera because you don't want more detail in the figure or the foreground. Oh well, keep playing with it. @northy is good at that so you might take a look at her stuff
i tend to get the lighting effect @yrhenwr is describing by overexposing for the light and then where necessary, darkening the edges in lightroom...
