Architecture with a Flash of Red

Architecture ... some buildings that had touches of red. Taken from a 5th story window in another building so more of eye level than looking up. Downtown Salem, Oregon has most of its architecture dating back to the early 20th century; we're a bit behind the times.
Great choice

Unusual to have a red trim (I have forgotten the proper word!) around the top of the building like the one at the back. It is a good well proportioned classical building - one that I wouldn't be complaining about if we had such an elegant presence here in Bedford.

When I was born in the mid 20th century I never came across buildings like this so I guess Salem is not as far behind the times as you suggest! I love your flashes of red. Fav

@helenhall @lostphojo Classical buildings are what we have in our old downtown...an area about 3 city blocks by 10 city blocks. Other architecture around town seems very 1970s blocks. Glad this photo worked and hearing that from you is very valuable to me.
