Tulip - High Key by granagringa

Tulip - High Key

For my own photography notes: still need to work on white-on-white and how to eliminate those blue-gray edges.

This is tulip shot 25 (3 in February and now 22 in March)......

i like this lone tulip with it's wrinkled petals.. so much detail has been recorded ..
in order to maintain a white background one needs leave space between object and backdrop and then light the backdrop separately. i'm thoroughly enjoying your Tulip Month :-)

Very pretty high key. So neat to read Jorlam's note about how to do white on white without shadows. Must try that!

This is so beautiful. Love the white on white color!! I might have to try Jorlam's technique, unless I did it without even realziing

A great series of tulip shots. Well done... so good to see the results of your investigations. I like your developmental attitude... you've learned a lot I think.

Take the shot against bright light so that a window is directly behind the flower, that way you get completely white background and if you focus on the tulip, you can capture all the details as well the high key effect

@jorlam Thanks, Jorlam, for the kind comments and the tips for improving...white-on-white seems to be my current nemesis. I think you've mentioned this before and it is still percolating through the brain cells.

@susale Oh, thank you. I will definitely try that...right now as I think about it, it seems it would turn out to be a silhouette, but I'll play and see what happens. Again, thank you.

@granagringa It won't be a silhouette if you tälle It as a macro. I'm sorry, It didn't remember to tell that.

*take. Darn autocorrective 😯
March 25th, 2017
@granagringa If you have a macro lens use that. If not, take the shot as close as possibile. Also the light should be very bright like direct sunlight

@susale Thank you so much...yeah, I have macro filter and that's making sense. All I need is bright sunlight, and as I am currently in Oregon, it might be another month before that happens! Thanks so much. this is such a cool community!!! I'll let you how it goes.
