After dinner with my husband and son, we stopped at the lake to see if there might be a photo op, since the storms are over and the lake looked calm. I was thrilled to see a couple of sailboats. It was at dusk, the sun had just set.
Thanks to everyone for their comments and suggestions on my other photos, they are much appreciated. As always, I appreciate any comments and suggestions that you post for this photo.
Love this evening scene so peaceful at the end of the day ! The lights in the distance show up well & the silhouette of the sailors on the boat look like they are just having a chat & a drink !
I love sailboats - the whole scene is so peaceful and beautiful!
P.S. I don't know how you edit your photos (if you do), but you can always tilt horizon to perfect straight line :) Someone gave me this advice and I always stick to it now. You can do it in picnik or photoshop. It works either way, really, who cares for horizon when the photo is so good? :)
I didn't notice the slight slope of the water until naladka mentioned it but a lovely picture anyway. As an ex sailor I appreciate the calm conditions in which to take down the sails and clear away ready before that well earned G&T.
@naladka Thanks for the comment and advice. I have not tryed to change the slope and really did not notice until you mentioned it. It was quite a challenge taking the photos yesterday, dodging the folks, their dogs, etc. Some of the folks on the dock were slightly inebriated, so I was glad that I was not alone! A lot of them just happened to walk between me and the boats and ruined several shots! I have Photoshop elements, but do not know how to do much more than crop, adjust the brightness and contrast by using the auto feature. @janek Thanks!
