Old Van Zandt Home Circa 1800's

Historical Cottage in Fort Worth, Texas. Acquired between 1871 and 1873 by Khleber Miller Van Zandt, when he acquired 600 acres of land to the west of the newly incorporated Fort Worth. The cottage was already there. It has undergone several restorations since that time. Originally said to have had a "dog-trot" in the middle of it, but was enclosed during one restoration. The original unpainted siding was replaced by more modern siding, in 1936. The foundation had to be repaired as well as the chimneys that stand on either end of the cottage. Khleber Miller Van Zandt started a bank and an early newspaper in Fort Worth. He was also the great great grandfather of singer songwriter Towndes Van Zandt.
Many thanks to everyone for their comments, suggestions and favs of my earlier photos. Thank you for any comments and suggestions on this one.
This is nice! I like the black and white, and how the tree frames the house. Makes me want to see a little more of the tree at the top of the frame.

Perfect in B&W. Beautifully framed by the old (I imagine) oak tree.

neat photo - like the way the leaf shadows play on the side of the home, and love that these old buildings have been restored from the past
