What's for Dinner? by grannysue

What's for Dinner?

Saw a Snowy Egret this evening at the lake. I do not know what he was catching for dinner, it appears to be a little snake or eel. He managed to eat one before he caught this one. This one fought very hard, got away twice and was captured again. It kept wrapping itself around the beak and sometimes it stretched way out to reach the water.

Beautiful light! Not sure who's got who in that shot - the eel or whatever it is appears to be wrapped around the egret's beak.

Nice catch; very clear details. I've noticed a few times; these birds have very short tails, don't they? Makes them seem old... ;-p
