1: Get some more night driving in for my son, who needs at least 10 hours supervised before he can get his license.
2: See if the skies over Lake McDonald are clear enough for some high ISO star trails and if so, set up the camera and see what I can get.
I succeeded on both counts :) This shot is made up of 44 30-second images at f/4.5 and 2000 ISO.
I title this "Nocturnal" because each frame is pretty quiet, but when all put together it turns out to have been pretty busy, with vehicle lights showing through the trees, and many campers in tents on the far side of the lake. And let's not fail to mention the great cloud movement and mysterious Aurora Borealis!
And if you look closely, you will see a plane has cut diagonally across the entire scene.
Which brings me to this final little gem; doesn't everyone wish they had a Tattoo of their very own? Ahhh, takes me back to nights of Love Boat and Fantasy Island; good times! :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1x_QbVDlLbI
