Mountain Dew Halfpipe by grizzlysghost

Mountain Dew Halfpipe

After a cold night, the spring dew was heavy on the juniper.

Shot with my Petzval lens, see it here: http://365project.org/grizzlysghost/365/2011-06-10

how do you create this effect?

@sarahview When you produce the right conditions (focus, focal length, dof, distance to target, distance of target from background, etc.), you can get the background to do interesting things, like this. the small circles of light you see are sunlight on droplets of dew.

Rick Shies @digitalrn sent me over to see your work...said it was stunning, and how right he is! While enjoying your photos, I'll watch for the time you took the photos and the exif information to learn what I can...I have a long way to go! The commentary is always good for further information, so thanks for sharing more there as well! Nice to meet you!
