Tinsel by grizzlysghost

Tinsel

Tilt-zoom on my Christmas tree!

I had my camera mounted on a tripod and set for a long exposure. I tripped the shutter, and while the shutter was open slightly I zoomed the lens and tilted the camera slightly.

Taken as part of my 12.12.12 collage seen here:

December 13th, 2012

December 13th, 2012
Oh, and I have to know....do you zoom out or zoom in?
December 13th, 2012
@lynnb Thanks Lynn! I usually start zoomed in (so part of the tree is filling my finder), then zoom out until I can see all of the tree. It works best if you give yourself enough time to get the zooming done, then allow several seconds at the end to make the image more solid.

@grizzlysghost Thanks Aaron. Definitely on my "to try" list!

Stunning effect. Thanks for the lesson, have tried this before, but never knew which way I was supposed to zoom, and ended up with a bit of a mess, and gave up! Will put it back on the list and try again!
