Gallows by halkia

Gallows

11.52 pm: The Galgewater just before midnight. On these shores they used to hang criminals in the old days, hence the name (galg means gallows).

On the far left the Rembrandt Bridge and the De Put windmill can be seen. The famous Dutch painter Rembrandt was born just meters south of this bridge.
