Mila

My daughter came home tonight and brought with her Mila - her hamster - I managed to catch this shot in poor light with a very narrow DoF - but I like the very soft focus and the catchlights
Your right this one is the better shot. He looks adorable and the sjallow Dof really emphasises his face

@deborah63 @vera365 @jporcaro @eyesmile @helenw2 @alinz thank you all - I will try some more shots of her but this was a lucky shot - again I was late and about to go to bed when I remembered so when I gave the dogs their bedtime biscuit I suddenly remembered the hamster so open her cage door and she obligingly stuck out her nose! I snapped with the camera settings as they were - hence the small DoF as it was my macro lens!

not sure why this totally awesome shot would be considered not technically correct! This is wonderful. fav.

@francoise Francoise - I appreciate what you say and I agree entirey a good photo is a good photo and it need not be technically correct - my comment was made more through not getting nose and eyes both in focus, which I am told I should do to have a "good animal photograph" - that is judge speak - I should say accept the good photo for what it is - it makes me smile!
