Morning delivery

I took this shot last autumn - in a Railway Museum at Swindon. I post it as I entered the shot for a club competition last evening and was marked down a point because "the shot was clearly set up for the photographer - not his or her's own work! A lesson to me to be more careful in my presentation. The shot was indeed 'set up' - it is a tableau in the museum - but it was all my own photographic work. I was trying out a photography evening with set up situations lit especially for photographers, with reenactors playing scenes from "Brief Encounter". I quickly tired of having the same shot as 30 other photographers and not having the freedom to think for myself and set up my shots. I wandered off through the darkening museum (all lighting turned off apart from the lit scenes) but noticed this tableau being lit by borrowed lighting from a scene and natural light through a skylight (reflected on the peak of the upper figure's cap). It took a 15sec exposure at f11 to capture the image in very limited light - I used my 85mm Prime
It's a fantastic image! I do club and inter-club competitions too ...and I despair of judges 😋
