The Windmill by happypat

The Windmill

We went to check out the route to my photography class today . Afterwards we went & parked up to take photos, since I started this project every place has to be a photo shoot !!!! This is Lytham Windmill with church in the background..not sure which one. Had a potter round the shops, into Fat Face where I bought two shirts so an expensive trip ! It was quite windy & blowing the camera about so I am quite surprised it came out as clear!
I've been there a few times! It's so lovely but I don't think I'd noticed that it only has two sails before. My much younger cousins both have houses in Lytham now - lucky things. Very windy here too - rather limited what I could do with my poppy umbrella - I didn't want to have to chase it across the graves!

Pat, I love the photo - these old Dutch windmills have always fascinated me - but the thing that is making me smile, is the name of the shirt shop. FAT FACE Is that for real? That makes me really laugh.

Pat, I know the windmill :) . Is there another one to photograph on the road between Preston and Blackpool ?

To make the picture complete you need someone sat on the bench in a red shirt .....perhaps a 'fat face shirt'...:)..You need your hubby to act as a model for you in these situations :)

@murnane Yes it's a real name of a shop Marg ! They sell sort of casual quite trendy day wear, some too young for me but nice shirts !

I reckon it was so windy that the other 2 sails got blown off!!

@phil_howcroft Good idea Phil !! I will put it to him. Funnily enough there was a guy there flying a kite but he was wearing such awful clothes eg flowery shorts & horrible vest that I had to wait for him to move !

@judithg I have only ever been to Lytham a couple of times so don't know whether the sails have fallen off or not, perhaps it only ever had two !!!

Such a wonderful shot, Pat! Like Marg, I've always had a fondness for Dutch windmills. Would love to spend a day in Lytham...it sounds and looks so charming. I'm excited for you beginning your photography class and hope you love it! I know that I feel much more comfortable with my camera since taking classes. Next fall I might consider the intermediate class.
