Great festivities in Garstang all day today. The weather wasn't too good this morning for the crowning of the Queen but tonight there were blue skies & the whole town turned out. There were about 40 floats pulled by tractors, brass bands, fancy dress & different festival Queens from the surrounding villages. It was such a hard job choosing which photo to put up out of 87 I took but eventually chose this one for the colours, blue sky & children which what the day was all about. These children belong to Garstang Nursery, I might put more up tomorrow if I've nothing better !! Sorry might not have time to comment much tonight , will catch up tomorrow !!!!
Fabulous photo Pat - this really does capture the essence of the celebration. Love the combination of colours, costumes, children and smiles. The festival sounds like a love community event.
oooh what fun! We used to have lots of floats at the Meldrum Sports (3rd Saturday in June) when the children were little but health and safety issues have ended all that!! There's so much fun in all the work and everyone enjoys the show!
