Our daughters church has had a music festival this weekend & this afternoon they had open air Songs of Praise in the field behind the church. It was very hot but enjoyable with a picnic tea afterwards sitting on straw bales in the sun. It is a tiny church in a little hamlet I think you would call it, of about a dozen house at the foot of Beacon Fell.
What a LOVELY place to live and it's great to have such an active church community in a hamlet. Is the vicar one of these that has to run lots of parishes?
@judithg No they have their own vicar which is unusual. we used to live & farm here before we moved ten miles away 12 years age but its nice to go back which we do regularly for farming does & village hall dances & always New Years Eve. They are great singers in this church & because its very small the sound is brilliant !
