Fields of gold

Out on my bike again today, I set off in the sun but by the time I was nearly home it was raining. There was I in sandals short trousers, crash helmet & sunglasses to keep the midges from going in my eyes..not a pretty sight! Lovely & sunny again now. This field of winter wheat is just about ready for harvesting I would think. As you can see no blue sky this afternoon!

Wow - it certainly is gold!! It certainly seems to be a great wheat crop this year which should be good news for our rampant flour prices. I tried a bit at the weekend - it was very sweet. I see you've beaten me on the 'precious metals in the title' competition today!!

what a great colour seeing as as there is no sun too! we've been lucky - just humid no rain...YET! the sun is out tonight but i suspect there will be wet stuff on the way! love the depth of this shot and the framing from the tree
