I went to choose new glasses today in Blackpool & braved the bad weather to take this photo.
Three good things:
1.Lunch in Marks & Spencers with Harry.
2. I found a pair of glasses I liked which don't make me look too old!
3. Britains Best Baker on TV tonight!
Such a marvelous wide view of that moody, grey sky and sea. I can almost feel the cold.
It's always nice to find the right pair of glasses...though it would take more than a poor frame choice to make you look old, Pat. :)
@peggysirk Thank you Peggy but I thought my present reading glasses needed updating, they are silver & made me looked washed out. I have picked a tortoiseshell pair which look modern & make me look a bit more with it!!!
Another fabulous bleak Blackpoolscape Pat! It's not coming across too well in 'Emergency 999' or whatever it's called but I like it deserted. I think Brendan will win but I like Danny's stuff and Cathryn's always looks tasty.
@judithg I have a feeling Brendan will win but he is not my favourite, I like James with the specs! The very young policeman with the little lost boy last week is the son of good friends of ours!
@maggiemae Well Blackpool is a place with a variety of very varied hats Maggiemae! Sometimes absolutely the pits as on a Saturday night but out of season is very pleasant., what you see is what you get with Blackpool & it certainly has no airs & graces, We are 7 miles away & it's quite near enough thank you !!!! .
It's grim up north comes readily to mind - but it was grim over all UK. Well done for giving us a shot of the town without the tower! Were you wearing the aforementioned glasses to get this shot? Or did your old ones blow off so you needed new ones?
@happypat Not really, as where I came from Southport was our local resort - being on the direct train line . Somewhat posher but I assure you we were not!

looks like mid winter not late september.....not a person in sight too...which helps add to the drama
