Whitechapel Wanderers walk today & strangely enough by coincidence it was the same area as my Guild Wheel cycle yesterday!
I was very happy to go back this time on foot. A different route the other side of the river, it was good to see what great walks the City of Preston has, surrounded as it is by large parks.
This riot of colour is in Avenham Park, my old walking in crocodile stamping ground when I was at school.
A photographers heaven I took 149 photos so I'm afraid you will be seeing more!!!
Three good things:
1. Good friends.
2. Healthy & fit to be able to walk & enjoy the world.
3. Eyes to see.
@judithg I must say this last two days has really opened my eyes Judith, the houses & the area around the parks are beautiful & I would go so far as to say I could easily live there , a stones throw from the centre of Preston & me a country girl!
@happypat I often thought how elegant the houses around Avenham Park are - it's nice to know they are being lived in again - it will have made the area much safer as it only takes people to be living around and about at night - a lot to be said for not having to commute!
@happypat Oh I've just Googled that - beautiful setting - we used to go that way to the chippy when I was in the Sixth Form. Grade II listed! No back garden but apart from that beautiful - you don't want to know what you'd have to pay for that in Cambridge....
@happypat It's still crazy - but it's all about demand - just not enough houses due to the success of the science and business parks. They are building literally thousands more - our little town is going to be very full indeed soon.
Yes ... a photographer's Heaven for sure, Pat! The trees are in full color, I see. I love walking places like this. They have so many photo ops. Hope that you enjoyed this one ... and am looking forward to your other photos of it. And Amen to your "three good things." :)
